On behalf of our entire team at Hacker Fund, we wanted to thank you for your support last week as we celebrated Giving Tuesday! With your help, we were able to raise over $15,000 collectively from all of the fundraisers that were created through Facebook!
So, what's next?!
We're now raising funds in honor of Computer Science Education Week! For the next week, our nation is celebrating a commitment to computer science education and the spread of resources nationwide.
Since we were successfully admitted into Facebook's nonprofit program and now anyone can start a fundraiser through Facebook to support us year-round!
With your campaign, the goal will be to raise $250 by December 31st, 2016 in order to pay for the onboarding cost of 5 new mentors for Hacker Fund. For the last two years, we have been inspiring students nationwide via our mentors and now we are looking to onboard more.
It costs $50 to recruit, certify, and onboard one mentor to Hacker Fund. All mentors are vetted by industry professionals and receive a background check in order to ensure that they are suitable and safe to inspire kids.
Since 2014, the Hacker Fund team has served over 50 events in the United States and has inspired over 10,000 students to pursue education in STEM. Our mentor program as is now expanding nationwide and we cannot reach the kids without your help!
